Hello, I thought I would let you know about a couple of recent publications.
A flash fiction of mine was published last week in one of my dream journals, SmokeLong Quarterly. My story “All of us are in pieces” was chosen by their guest reader, Mel Bosworth, and you can read it here. I have long read and loved SmokeLong Quarterly, a US journal established in 2003 and regarded as one of the very best places for flash fiction. The editors at SmokeLong are all incredibly accomplished and widely published writers, as is Mel Bosworth, who amongst other things is currently serving as the associate editor for The Best Small Fictions 2017. His guest reader interview with SmokeLong is here. I especially like that he asked for fiction that would “set the top of my head on fire” – I hope my story came close to that.
I also had a short story “Chemistry” published by Split Lip Magazine and you can read it here. This US journal is so wonderful. The editors are incredible in their support of writers and the literary community. They are also widely published writers. For me, that is one of the greatest compliments when a journal like Split Lip chooses my work – that writers who I respect and admire liked my writing enough to want to feature it in their journal.
I am so honoured to have stories in both of these places. I have also had other publications recently in some really lovely journals – each acceptance has been wonderful and caused me to stare at my phone in disbelief for a moment – and these have been added to the publications page.
